How the Feature Works
The core mechanic is the "Wild Portals" or "Portal Lock" mode, activated by a higher bet. When this mode is active, any time the highest paying symbol lands on the screen, it leaves behind a persistent frame that locks to that position for future spins. These frames remain until a special bonus event is triggered.
The bonus event occurs when a meteor (Star Goddess) or fireball (Wu Dragon) randomly strikes the reels:- If it hits a Frame: This causes a chain reaction. The impacted position turns wild, all symbols bordering the impact point also turn wild, and critically, every other frame on the screen transforms into a wild symbol for that spin. After the win is paid, all frames are cleared.
- If it hits a non-framed position: Only that single symbol turns wild. The existing frames remain on the screen for future spins.
- Strategy Note: Frames on reels 2 and 3 are more valuable than on reel 1, as they allow wilds to expand in both directions. Sometimes, frames may appear to be missing; playing one spin can cause them to reappear, potentially revealing a hidden advantage play.
