Red Silk/Aztec Chief Guide
by AGS
This slot revolves around collecting two coins to turn a reel fully wild for two spins. Unlike similar games, the true advantage play is very specific: you must find reels that are already active and wild, as simply finding collected coins is rarely a profitable strategy on its own.
When to Play
How the Feature Works
The primary mechanic of Red Silk and Aztec Chief involves coin holders positioned above each of the five reels. When a coin symbol lands on a reel, it is collected in the holder above. Once two coins have been collected for a specific reel, that entire reel transforms into a fully wild reel for the next two paid spins.
An active wild reel is indicated by a glowing gold border around it. The coin holder above the reel will display either one or two coins, which serves as a countdown for the number of wild spins remaining. After the second wild spin is completed, the coin holder for that reel is emptied, and the process of collecting two new coins begins again for that reel.
What to Be Careful About
- Suggested bankroll: 50 units.
- Common Strategy Trap to Avoid: Many players mistakenly play this game like Golden Egypt, assuming that having two coins in the first three reels, or one coin in each of the first three reels, is a profitable play. This is incorrect. Due to this game's pay structure concentrating more value in the progressives, these coin-only states are not profitable to chase. Only play on already active wilds.
- Visual Trap: The lanterns (Red Silk) or masks (Aztec Chief) displayed above the reels are purely cosmetic and do not indicate that a jackpot bonus is more likely to hit.
