Captain Riches/Tiki Fortune Guide
by AGS
This slot revolves around collecting coins above reel two, three and four to turn a reel fully wild for the next three spins. This game is very similar to Red Silk / Aztec Chief and often considered an advantage play trap.
When to Play
How the Feature Works
The primary mechanic of Captain Rriches operates on the three middle reels (2, 3, and 4). Above each of these reels is a coin holder. When a coin symbol lands, it's collected in the holder above. Once three coins have been collected for a specific reel, that entire reel transforms into a fully wild reel for the next three paid spins.
In addition to regular coins, special 2x and 3x multiplier coins can also be collected. These are the key to creating a high-value advantage play but do not change the 'collect three' rule to trigger the wild feature. An active wild reel is indicated by a glowing gold border, and the coins above it count down to show how many wild spins are left.
What to Be Careful About
- Suggested bankroll: 50 units.
- Visual Trap: The treasure chests (Captain Riches) or tiki heads (Tiki Fortune) displayed above the reels are purely for show and do not indicate that a jackpot bonus is more likely to hit.
- Important Game Design Note: The game is intentionally designed to make collecting the third and final coin much more difficult than the first two. It is very common to see machines with two coins in each holder; this state is easy to reach and is not an indicator that the feature is about to hit.
