Lobstermania/Shrimpmania Guide
by IGT
Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania 4 Link and its companion, Super Sally’s Shrimpmania 4 Link, feature Loot Awards above reels two, three and four. The Loot Awards are activated when two coins are collected in that reel.
When to Play
Game Features & Mechanics
Lobstermania 4 Link (and the Shrimpmania variant) utilizes a "Sub-Symbol Collection" mechanic. Treasure chests or coins appear as small icons attached to standard symbols. When you collect two on a single reel, the "Loot Award" displayed above that reel is triggered for the next series of spins.
The power-ups you can trigger include:
- Wild Reels: Turning the entire reel wild for increased hit frequency.
- Multipliers: Boosting the value of any line wins.
- Double Symbols: Increasing the symbol count for bigger "ways" wins.
- Bonus/Jackpot: Direct entry into the main feature or a progressive award.
The "Bucket" vs. "Free Games" Choice:
When triggering a Bonus Loot Award, you are often given a choice. The Bucket Bonus is a "pick-em" style game with lower volatility—it provides a solid, consistent payout. The Free Games option is higher volatility; it has the potential for massive 100x+ wins but can also result in very low payouts.
What Makes it Advantage Playable?
The collection state of the treasure chests and coins and the specific Loot Award currently "on deck" are persistent. Most players do not realize that the "Bonus" or "Jackpot" icons at the top of the screen are actually reachable goals.
What to Be Careful About
- Suggested bankroll: 50 units.
- Loot award cycling: When an award is completed, the machine replaces it with a new one. Just because you triggered a "Multiplier" doesn't mean a "Bonus" will appear next. The goal is to hunt the specific rewards already displayed.
- Volatility of Choice: If you are on a strict bankroll, stick to the Bucket Bonus to ensure a return. Only take the Free Games if you have the cushion to handle a dead bonus.
